Ensuring Excellence for Over a Decade

With its latest round of grants approved by the Board of Directors this week, the Roosevelt Foundation has distributed over $500,000 back to the school since its inception in 2003. The Foundation Board is committed to providing resources to support the academic, athletic, extra-curricular and enrichment needs of all students enrolled at Roosevelt High School.
In a time of unpredictable and shrinking public funding for Seattle Schools, the Roosevelt Foundation provides direct, tangible support to the faculty, classrooms and programs at Roosevelt High School. The impact is significant and is felt in every department, every year. Relying on public funding alone is simply not an option in our schools today.
The grants totaling $500,000 are made from the Foundation's growing endowment and are broad in scope and diverse in nature. Grants include text books and high-tech lab equipment for AP Science courses, sewing machines for life skills, sheet music for orchestra, and iPads for Special Education--just to name a very few. The support of the Foundation impacts every RHS student.
