Fall 2005: Foundation Dollars at Work
The Foundation Endowment Fund, a source of stable and sustainable income for Roosevelt, is currently close to $400,000 after only three years! (Read Treasurer's Report) For the second year in a row, the RHS Foundation awarded grants this year in the amount of $20,000 to support current RHS programs! Over the past two years, a total of $45,000 has been distributed to staff for education essentials.
Last year, a few of the funded items included:
Eight state-of-the-art IMAC computers for the Newspaper and Yearbook labs
200 Pre-Calculus textbooks
Materials for the Robotics Program (link to PI article)
25 music stands and 50 ergonomic chairs for the award-winning music program

This year, some of the items funded included:
A Seattle Childrens' Theater director to work with 140 Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to produce a play
Funds towards the new Marching Band Uniforms
Digital cameras for the 9th grade block activities
